ROOT CANAL PROCEDURE

We all have heard about root canal treatment very often now a days but dont know what it exactly means or how is it done....
What is a root canal treatment??
A root canal treatment is procedure done by removing the decayed tooth structure and cleaning the infected root canals in a step by step process and then filling the root canals with a bioinert material and then restore the lost tooth structure with a strong restorative material and then protect the tooth with a crown... This is not the actual definition of root canal treatment but for you people to understand easily I have put it in my own words..
When is root canal treatment done??

Root canal treatment is done when a tooth is affected by dental caries and left untreated which leads to the infection of the pulp. Sometimes the infection spreads to the underlying tissues also leading to dental abscesses. So inorder to treat this condition simple dental fillings are not enough and they wont do anything beneficial here...
At this time point your dentist will suggest you to either save your tooth by doing root canal treatment or by extracting the tooth..
As many of us think that root canal procedure is a waste of time and money many of us opt for extraction of the tooth by which we are losing our natural tooth  and which lead to difficulty in chewing food properly and many other problems...
But root canal procedure (rct) is the best treatment option for this condition as it treats the infection and resolves the abcess  and saves our tooth...
Rct is a very simple but little time consuming procedure which inturn heals the  infection very well..
Jus see this video and you will understand how is rct done and then we will discuss later about the indications, contraindications, and step by step procedures in detail...
Watch this video which is very helpful to understand what is rct in short....
